Mine reclamation services

With support of an agronomic and microbiology Ph. D. EnPhase developed a mine tailing reclamation process using wood ashes produced by biomass CHP plants. Since 2000, this natural process has been used to stabilize, structure and revegetate the orphan Opemiska mine tailing site of over 80 ha. This method improves the overall process of mining and metal extraction in a context of reducing greenhouse gases and environmental sustainability. EnPhase now offers mine tailing reclamation services using wood ashes diverted from landfills. EnPhase is also collaborating with the l'Unité de Recherche et de Service en Technologie Minérale (URSTM) of UQATon a research project to stabilize the acid generating mine tailings with wood ash.

Services offered for mine tailing reclamation are :

  • Development of methods to stabilize, structure and revegetate mine sites
  • Planning and agronomic protocols
  • Pilot demonstration projects adapted to the site soil characterization
  • Large scale mine tailing reclamation
  • Agronomic follow-up
  • Representation at the municipal and political level of the mine tailing restauration techniques developed by EnPhase
  • Preparation of requests for permits, authorizations and licenses with the governmental authorities
